Do you try and get your company name as a domain name? Do you try for a domain name that describes what you do? Or do you get a domain name that's unusual and memorable but completely irrelevant?

Your domain name needs to be in your name - not the name of your developer, and you should try and get as many versions as you can .com, .co.uk, .net are the ones you should aim for. These mean if people type in the wrong domain name they still find you, and it stops rivals from trying to pass themselves off as your business.
