The early days

i3 Started to design websites in Peterborough as a one man band 5 years ago - i3media served the local community and specialised in visually stunning sites that stood out from the crowd. Delivering sites that ranged from full flash ecommerce sites with commissioned soundtracks selling clothing and cars, to brochure sites for security companies and estate agents.

Running successfully for 4 years i3 built a portfolio of 200+ clients and developed its own content management systems that rivalled anything in the business.

Second generation

As a settled business with a small team we could pick and choose our clients, but we were still a specialist company, in a niche market and predominantly working within the Peterborough area.

Everything changed at the beginning of 2007 when we brought in new staff, started looking further afield for clients and began reinventing ourselves.

May 07 - i3 was buzzing, we had moved to new premises, taken on a brilliant head developer and a modest but one of the best sales and marketing consultants in the industry - i3 was now ready to make its mark.

By the end of 2007 we had 17 new sites being built, ranging from market leading social networking sites, Europe's biggest bronze age centre and even one for the Grand Designs Live TV show. Our turnover has increased 600% and we have invested heavily in cutting edge new technology, a state of the art new ecommerce system (i3commerce) and version 3 of our CMS (i3publish).

These sites regularly have dozens of administrators working on them at once and support traffic levels of tens of thousands of people a day and terabytes of traffic a month.

During early 2008  i3 moved from the small end of the market to going toe to toe with the big players, going against big London agencies and winning, we are more than holding our own.

We now have a portfolio that blows people away, some big names that open doors and are working on some huge and exciting projects.

i3 is now in a position to offer full agency services to companies who don't have or intend to pay London agency rates, but at the same time getting a service which is second to none.

We are now moving onto stage three of our long term plan, with number 5 being world domination!
