Wouldn’t it be great if the online community and the local community joined forces to tackle the challenges being faced within a city?
Well, that is just what the Brainwave project sought to initiate. The scheme, in its infancy, was a simple problem and answer model.
Having worked with Opportunity Peterborough, an economic development company for Peterborough City Council, on a ‘Smart City’ project, we were asked to consult and develop a platform to engage businesses with challenges.
The brief was to plan and create a platform that would allow organisations to submit citywide challenges that other businesses in the area could provide solutions for. The core aim was to improve economic growth within Peterborough and provide opportunities to businesses, which would otherwise be missed. Secondary to this was letting investors view opportunities that may allow for projects to get kick-started.

Due to the very nature of the venture and its target audience, we determined from the start that a dedicated mobile experience would be central to the delivery.
With a site of this scale, it can be potentially difficult to distribute the site on a mobile device whilst maintaining a great customer experience - but we achieved this extremely well.
The mobile experience would engage with a far wider audience and would, therefore, meet the community-based criteria of the project.
